How College Students Can Conserve Water

  1. Educate yourself about the need for water conservation. College is about expanding your education spectrum, the Earth will thank you.
  2. As relaxing as a 45 minute shower is, half that time will suffice. Plus dorm showers are not the cleanest.
  3. Buy that trendy reusable water bottle and use it every day.
  4. Walk or ride your bike to school. This will prevent the freshman fifteen and this will alleviate the pollution adding to our world’s global warming.
  5. Turn off the water while you are brushing your teeth or lathering up your face with soap.
  6. Put a bucket outside your apartment, use this collected water and water your potted plants.
  7. Only wash your clothes if it fills the load of the washing machine (i.e. don’t put one shirt and a pair of pants in a small load).
  8. Use hand sanitizer to wash your hands.
  9. Do not pour the left over water in your cups down the drain, pour it outside or water your plants with it.
  10. To thaw out your frozen meats leave it in the refrigerator the night before you need it.
